Hunger- A Living Nightmare
Hello! Are you eating something right now? Maybe some chips, strawberries, anything. Well there is probably someone in this world craving for what you are now eating. In this blog I’m going to talk about hunger, what causes it and some solutions. This blog could also be for supporters of zero hunger. Let’s begin!
Food is everywhere. In your fridge, local markets, on the kitchen table, and right in the ocean! But in some areas there just isn’t enough food. Hunger affects all ages, races, and even animals in the wilderness. Anyone can think of a book they had read with a character that faces hunger. In some countries there are droughts that cause crops not to grow and eventually die, causing people to starve. Sometimes the ocean had been polluted causing no fish at all. Or even poverty, not enough money to buy any food.
Another cause of world hunger is overpopulation. Sometimes there are too many people in a country to feed. Every year millions of people had to decide between buying food for their families or buying everyday necessary stuff, due to the pandemic even more people began to starve. But in other countries, food is wasted. Usually countries with overpopulation are poor, families will become hungry when there’s not enough food. Overpopulation occurs usually because of poor families, women usually give birth to more children sometimes to work as servants for the household, or they don’t have any access to birth control. A solution to this is to have better medical facilities or to prevent immigration.
As you can see, hunger is a huge problem. But there are solutions. Some solutions such as preventing agricultural trade restriction, or doubling productivity of incomes and small scale food producers. Even if you can’t do that you can still do something. Just don’t waste food and eat everything on your plate, by doing such a simple act could save a person. But anyone could also join Global Goals, their second goal is “Zero Hunger”, all you have to do is get involved! Anyway, that's it from me!
