Causes of Shrinking Rainforests

 



Hello! Are you a lover of the rainforest? Well this is the right blog! I’m going to talk about the causes of the shrinking rainforests all around the world. There are many causes of the rainforest shrinking. Deforestation, animals being threatened, eating a lot of beef, and using a lot paper and wood. Eating a lot of beef and using a lot of paper both fall into the category of deforestation, but I’m going to talk about each cause.




Our first cause is deforestation. Every year an area of the rainforest that could be the size of a small state is being cut down. Of course, there are many reasons for that. Such as wood, farmland, roads, minerals, and many other reasons. But because of that many lives had been taken. Not just humans that are deforesting rainforests, but in a way climate change is too. Climate change sometimes causes droughts, and droughts are killers. It increases chances of wildfires, plants wouldn’t get enough water and animals wouldn’t too.



Alright, the rainforest is being deforested. But what happens? A lot of animals are becoming endangered. The first thing that might come to mind is that animals are being poached. That is part of the reason, but another reason is that animals are losing their habitats. Due to deforestation a lot of animals lost their habitats. Every year more than 50,000 animals, insects, and plants are killed.Along with the deforestation animals are being killed with it.



Beef is loved worldwide. It is almost always found in restaurants and probably at home too. But because of that farmers clear out areas of the rainforests to raise cattle. The best way to prevent that is to reduce eating beef.


Now finally, our final cause. People use paper and wood everyday. To draw, build, sculpt, and a lot of things. Areas of rainforests are being cut down for daily use of wood. At least there are billions of trees out in the world. So using paper and wood everyday isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but it's best to reduce using it too much.


These are a couple of causes of shrinking rainforests. If you read this article at least try to save the rainforest by reducing pollution too. That's it from me!
